Blue Anchor exposes a thin but highly productive Rhaetian bone bed within the Penarth Group, yielding abundant reptile, shark and fish remains, similar to the famous Aust site on the Severn Estuary. Sedbury cliff

Sedbury Cliff, beside the Severn near Chepstow, exposes a Late Triassic to Early Jurassic succession with contrasting fossil-bearing rocks. Its limestone and shale record ammonites and bivalves, while older sandy bone-bed material contains fish remains.
